Newsgroups are an easy way to talk to others and share helpful information. It is a forum where people can add subjects and articles, and allows others to respond.
Please use the following instructions to set up newsgroups in Outlook Express. If you are using another email client, such as Outlook Office, Eudora or Mac Mail, contact tech support for specific instructions.
Setting up Outlook Express to read newsgroups: - From the Tools Menu select Accounts
- Click on Add then News
- Enter Display Name and E-mail Address as prompted
- For News (NNTP) server, enter "news.execulink.com"
- Place a checkmark beside "My news server requires me to log on"
- On the next page enter your login and password that you were given for your DSL connection.
NOTE: Cable customers use your e-mail address. Dial-up customers must add their full e-mail domain (ex.

). When you close the Accounts window, you will be prompted to download all newsgroups from the new account. You must download the newsgroup list before you can access the news server. You will then see a list of available newsgroups. - Double click on the newsgroups you would like to read and click OK at the bottom.
- The selected newsgroups will then be in your folder list on the left hand side of Outlook Express, under news.execulink.com.
- Click on the newgroups you would like to receive.
- This will then give you a list of topics and subjects that you can read and reply to.
